Trip Report: Siam and then some..... - Bangkok Highlights

I am sure that a lot of you have visited Bangkok already but here are some pics of the places we visited that may be of interest to others. Enjoy!

Chatuchak Weekend Market....

....where you can buy local goods, among other things.

Visited a very interesting Catholic church that incorporated local Thai architecture....

...that even had a "shrine" with Mama Mary and Jesus in it.

Tried a lot of their local desserts like this Water Chestnut in Sweetened Coconut Milk and Ice...

.... and this Mango Crepe with Coconut Ice Cream at the Baan Khanitha cafe....

...as well as this Peninsula Bangkok's take on...

...Thailand's famous Mango Sticky Rice.

Of course, let's not forget my favorite dishes. Beef Masaman Curry, which Baan Khanitha does really well...

...and this Soft-shell crab salad....

...from the Secret Garden.

Both restaurants can be found at the Sathorn Rd. area of the city.

No visit to Bangkok is complete without visiting their temples.....

...Chao Praya River...

....The Jim Thompson House....

....and of course, shopping.

Just beware of the traffic....

....because you might end up walking along the whole of Chinatown....

...and see this.....

Hehe. Kidding. Hope you enjoyed my quick photo tour :-)
